Wanessa Sarmento 

I am deeply passionate about health sciences and have dedicated myself to learning how to support individuals facing health challenges.

​

I hold a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from Brazil, where I honed my clinical nutrition skills. Additionally, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences from the University of Auckland and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research from Victoria University of Wellington. My studies in Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine, along with an Integrative Health and Medicine Specialization from the University of Minnesota, have further enriched my expertise.

With practical experience as a Medical Administrator at Auckland and North Shore hospitals, I have also worked in clinical research and the private health sector. Teaching is another passion of mine; I actively tutor undergraduate and postgraduate students and have collaborated with AUT and other educational institutions, providing tutoring and assessments.

​

I enjoy learning languages and am fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. In my spare time, I love reading, listening to podcasts, cooking, baking, practicing yoga, and training at the gym.

​

After being diagnosed with fibromyalgia at a young age, I successfully rehabilitated myself, lost 35kg without surgery, and eliminated all prescribed medications, including fortnight injections for pain management. Now, I am happy with how my body looks, how my blood tests read, and what I feel in my heart. I cherish the relationships I’ve built and cultivate them with love and care.

I recently moved to the beautiful Tauranga, where I can dedicate more time to helping people improve their health while also focusing on my spiritual practices.

 

I pride myself on being empathetic and a good listener, always seeking the light at the end of the tunnel.
